Stacy Schmidt is the Public Relations/Publications Coordinator for Dixie State University’s Marketing & Communication Office. In this role, she serves as a writer and editor of the Dixie State University magazine and also creates press releases, articles and other university material.
Born and raised in Utah, Stacy earned her associate degree at Dixie State and her Bachelor of Science in communications at Weber State University. She has extensive experience promoting organizations through effective communications strategies and she enjoys working where her heart guides her, with programs that change lives, particularly for youth.
Prior to joining DSU, Stacy served as the Southern Utah Admissions Counselor for Job Corps, a free training and education program designed to equip eligible youth with the skills and education necessary to become successful adults. Stacy also spent several years working in southern California managing the communications and program development for numerous organizations in an effort to help youth discover their best selves and find their path toward success. Prior to returning to Utah, she served as President & CEO of Children’s Fund, a non-profit organization committed to breaking destructive cycles through strong community partnerships.
Stacy returned home in 2017 to be closer to family and settle into her favorite place on earth, St. George, Utah. Every day since then, she has marveled at the breathtaking landscape, friendly people, endless days of sunshine and countless activities. She enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking, hammocking and playing pickleball with her husband – her best friend. She has two extraordinary children and she loves living closer to her parents, siblings and other family members who are mostly sprinkled throughout the state of Utah.
