Misty Frisbey is the Marketing and Communication department’s support specialist at Dixie State University. Misty has shared her love for Dixie State University for the past 18 years, and offers a very unique set of skills. She has a great love for marketing, graphic design, accounting, business, and dance.
Misty started as a student here in 1999. At that time she was a proud member of Rebelettes, and held her Rebel pride. After receiving her associate degree, Dixie became a 4 year college, and she was privileged to be on the first Dixie State Dance Company, under the direction of Dr. Li Lei as she pursued a business degree.
Misty accepted an exciting job to travel the U.S., so she ventured south to Las Vegas, but the red sand was heavy in her shoes and she found herself back at Dixie in 2004. She then began her studies in the Computer Information Technology program with a Visual Technology emphasis, and, low and behold, her soon-to-be Prince Charming sat quietly next to her in most her classes. She continued to dance as a scholarship member of the Dixie State Dance Company, until she graduated.
In 2007, Misty began working at DSU as an adjunct dance instructor, and in-between her Dixie experiences, she managed to open an amazing dance studio in St. George. She loves teaching and learning from students of all ages. She has been ecstatic to share her new TRAILBLAZER PRIDE with her dancers and this community, and is a True Rebel converted.
Misty’s most important accomplishment to this day was becoming a mother to her little redhead, RJ. When she is not busy dancing, designing, or working, her favorite time spent is with him and her husband Rex, attending DSU sporting events, and going on outdoor adventures.
