Jyl Hall is the director of public relations for Utah Tech University. In addition to publicizing the university’s accomplishments and offerings any way she can, Jyl loves to share the UT Spirit with those who visit campus.
A native of Kansas and an alumna of the University of Kansas, Jyl most definitely has red sand in her sequined shoes nowadays. She transitioned to higher education after working in the newspaper industry for six years, first as a copy editor and later as a features editor.
Jyl and her husband, Aaron, love to travel and have endured torrential downpours at the Colosseum, swam with stingrays in Barbados, partook in a picnic in Dublin while wearing a leprechaun disguise, barely survived the most turbulent ride on a Mexican ferry, and petted kangaroos, wallabies, and kolas in Sydney. Their latest adventure is raising their adorable baby girl.
When not playing with her sweet daughter, Jyl loves to bake cookies, cupcakes, and anything that involves chocolate. (She has found that it is easier to make her friends chunkier, causing her to look thinner by association than for her to actually put down the doughnut.) She enjoys justifying her hoarding habit by creating craft projects out of collected treasures and copious amounts of glitter.
